Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for our VE Day celebrations last Thursday.

First up, we want to talk about our celebration afternoon tea. The event was attended by 60 residents who enjoyed delicious food from The Market Cafe Lounge and fantastic music from The Hummingbirds. All of the guests were nominated by members of the community, local organisations or care homes. There was such a joyful atmosphere and everyone really enjoyed themselves! A special thank you to Nana’s Knitted Treasure’s who made some gorgeous Kingswood themed crochet magnets so everyone had a keepsake to remind them of the afternoon.

In the evening, we had a fantastic turn out for the celebration event in Kingswood Park. A big thank you to – The Friends of Kingswood Park, South Gloucestershire Council & the Parish of Kingswood for collaborating with us on the organisation of the event. We couldn’t have done it without you. Sam Eason Music and Beak Brass Band Bristol for your great sets and for leading us in the singing of ‘I Vow to Thee’. The local scouts who came armed with their parade flags and lit the first lantern of peace. Parish of Kingswood’s Rev. Beverley, Councillor Ken Rabone & Councillor Alison Evans for leading the evening’s speeches and reminding us of the importance of this day and the importance of ongoing peace.

We hope you all enjoy these photos from the day!
